Hello!! cyber-notics. I received my first tutorial in "blogging" today from my friend Dutch. Thanks a bunch. I'll get it figured out one of these evenings when I stay at home (?). I can't believe it's Friday already. This week has flown by. It's been a grey, almost dreary day except for all the nice people I've talked with on the phone. Got some business planning done, separated 2004's income tax papers from 2003--oh uh!! a little late, I guess.
Well, I'm planning on making some changes around here real soon. Getting ready for an auction in February. Decided to re-organize my life now that I'm 60 yo and get rid of all the "stuff" I've been carting around for about 20 years. Selling everything including the kitchen sink (it's a spare), all the antiques, copperware, even my grandmother's Singer sewing machine. I really hate to sell that Singer, but none of my g'kids want it, so I'll let someone who really wants it have it for money. Grandma won't mind.
Spicing up my business a little, too. Adding a service that I think will please my clients. Should also spice up my personal life like a trip to Elizabeth Arden's for an all-day spa/facial/hairstyle, etc....no! not in Dallas, TX...in New York on 5th Avenue.
Today, My sister and I talked about a trip to Hawaii before August. My son and his children are there, so we may as well take advantage of that. Baby Sister and I will stay in a hotel so we can "retreat" from the little "Lost Boys."
My church is moving into a new building before Easter --2005--and I'm pretty excited about that. I play piano/keyboard for the church band; we had a great practice last night with Tan Ya. She wrote a song but didn't know how to translate the tune into notes, so we figured it out for her. I think it'll turn out very well for this Sunday morning. Playing piano for the church and with our band is the high-light of my week. We have a lot of fun putting a spin on traditional church music. Mostly we do country gospel because all the band members except me play in country/western bands. I'm the Southern Gospel link. (Yes, there is a difference.) Our congregation loves whatever we turn out: lots of clapping, singing, laughter, praising the Lord, hand waving. Mama Bear told Pastor (we call him Bubba) "We're going to have to rename Vanessa "Jerry Lee" cause of the way she plays that piano." Everyone laughed. Bubba said, "She can play it any way she wants to, as long as she doesn't kick the piano bench and jump up on top of the piano!"
I hope all you wonderful people have a glorious week-end and, please, attend the church of your choice where Jesus is honored. God bless us, everyone! (
